International Faculty:

Dr. Joachim Oertel from Homberg, Germany is our esteemed international faculty. He is a Professor of Neurosurgery as well as Director and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Saarland University Hospital, Homburg, Germany. He has received certification from Germany as well as the United States of America. Under his able guidance, the Department of Neurosurgery has become one of the largest neurosurgical departments in the country. His chief expertise and research interests are in the treatment of skull base tumours with particular interest in minimally invasive endoscopic techniques,vascular malformation and spine diseases. In addition to more than 180 publications to his credit in peer reviewed journals and having written more than 25 books and book chapters, Dr.Oertel also holds several patents of surgical devices for minimally invasive surgery.
